Correct current ratings for your installation temperature.
All current ratings are tabulated at 30°C ambient. Apply de-rating factors for installations where ambient temperature exceeds this reference.

| 25°C | 1.03 |
| 30°C | 1.0 |

Example: 10mm² wire clipped direct = 51A at 30°C. At 45°C ambient: 51 × 0.79 = 40A.
This is particularly relevant for installations in industrial buildings, rooftop runs, and locations in North and Central India where summer ambient temperatures regularly exceed 40°C.

Fully vertically integrated manufacturing.
Vibration-resistant multicore construction: two layers beyond single core wire — individual core insulation and an overall sheath that bundles conductors for bunched control cable and high-flex OEM harness routing. Every stage from copper drawing to final extrusion is performed in-house.
Bending Endurance: Our Class 5 fine-stranding is engineered for high flexibility cycles, making these cables ideal for moving machinery and robotic arms where standard cables suffer fatigue failure.
What makes multicore flexible the right specification for panels and industrial wiring.
Multiple conductors in one sheath is an engineering decision, not just a convenience. Each property below determines whether the cable performs reliably in the installation it was specified for.
Where this wire is specified.
Multicore flexible cable is specified wherever multiple circuits must travel the same route — reducing installation complexity, cable tray congestion, and termination count. The combination of Class 5 flexibility and colour-coded cores makes it the standard for industrial panels, machine wiring, and building services.
Standards this product is manufactured to.
National Cables Multicore Flexible Cable is manufactured to IS 694:2010 — the same standard as the single core range. Same BIS licence, same compliance framework, same testing protocol applied to every production lot. Full documentation available for institutional procurement, government tenders, and export requirements.
Multicore flexible cable — technical questions answered.
Common questions from panel builders, OEM machine builders, industrial contractors, and EPC procurement teams specifying multicore flexible cable to IS 694:2010.
Can multicore flexible cable be used for fixed tray wiring?
Yes. Multicore flexible cable with Class 5 conductors to IS 694:2010 is suitable for fixed installation on cable trays, in conduits, and within trunking systems, provided appropriate cable management (cleating, spacing, bundling) is used. Apply derating factors for grouped cables per installation standards.
The 1100V PVC insulation is suitable for most industrial fixed wiring applications. For environments requiring halogen-free performance (enclosed public spaces, data centres), specify multicore cable manufactured to IS 17048:2018 HFFR instead.
Fixed-tray use does not replace dedicated drag-chain or festoon cables for dynamic applications.
What is the difference between Class 5 and Class 6 conductors?
Both are flexible copper conductor classes per IEC 60228 / IS 8130, differing in stranding fineness. Class 5 uses fine-stranded copper suitable for panel wiring, machine interconnection, and general industrial flexibility — this is the standard for IS 694:2010 multicore flexible cable.
Class 6 uses even finer stranding for applications requiring higher flex life (drag chains, robotics, repeated-motion cables) and is typically covered under specialised standards rather than IS 694.
For most industrial panel and control wiring, Class 5 provides the optimal balance of flexibility, terminability, and cost.
Are these cables suitable for direct burial in soil?
No. Standard multicore flexible cable to IS 694:2010 is not designed for unprotected direct burial. The PVC sheath resists moisture and chemicals but provides no mechanical armour against soil pressure, stones, or rodent damage.
For direct burial applications, specify steel wire armoured (SWA) cable to IEC 60502-1 or equivalent. If multicore flexible cable must traverse an underground section, route it inside a protective duct or conduit. Consult your project's installation specification for burial depth and mechanical protection requirements.

Supplying to an international project?
This cable is manufactured to IS 694:2010 on a BIS-certified production line. The same facility produces cable conforming to equivalent international standards — if your project specifies H05VV-F / H07VV-F or NYM-J / NYM-O, we can supply from the same certified manufacturing facility.
